ERROR, IT'S CAUSES, METHODS, AND FRUIT

The scriptures clearly and often warn about error and its' causes, methods and fruit-

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned [fruit of error]; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ [cause of error], but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches [method of error] deceive the hearts of the simple [fruit of error] (Romans 16:17-18).

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you [methods of error], let him be accursed [fruit of error]. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed (Galatians 1:8-9).

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine [fruit of error], by the sleight [artifice, fraud] of men [method of error], and cunning craftiness [sophistry, trickery, sublety], wherebythey lie in wait to deceive [stray from orthodoxy, be deluded] [method of error] (Ephesians 4:11-14).

Beware lest any man spoil you [fruit of error] through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world [method of error], and not after Christ (Colossians 2:8).

As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine [method of error], Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies [cause of error],which minister questions, rather than godly edifying [fruit of error] which is in faith: so do (1 Timothy 1: 3-4).

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away [pushed away, rejected] concerning faith [cause of error] have made [others] shipwreck [fruit of error]: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme (1 Timothy 1:18-20).

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith [cause of error], giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy [method of error]; having their conscience seared with a hot iron [fruit of error]; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth (1 Timothy 4:1-3).

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words [cause of error], whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness [fruit of error]: from such withdraw thyself (1 Timothy 6:3-5).

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called [method of error]: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith [cause of error]. Grace be with thee. Amen. The first to Timothy was written from Laodicea, which is the chiefest city of Phrygia Pacatiana (1 Timothy 6:20-21).

But shun [those who preach] profane and vain babblings [method of error]: for they will increase unto more ungodliness [fruit of error]. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred [cause of error], saying that the resurrection is past already [method of error]; and overthrow the faith of some [fruit of error] (2 Timothy 2:16-18).

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine [method of error]; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears [cause of error]; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables [fruit of error] (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you [cause of error], who privily shall bring in damnable heresies [method of error], even denying the Lord that bought them, andbring upon themselves swift destruction [fruit of error]. And many shall follow their pernicious ways [fruit of error]; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness [cause of error] shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you [fruit of error]: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not [fruit of error], and their damnation slumbereth not [fruit of error]. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment [fruit of error] (2 Peter 2:1-4).

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled [cause of error], they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities [method of error]. Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness [fruit of error], as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you (2 Peter 2:9-13).

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, whichthey that are unlearned [cause of error] and unstable [cause of error] wrest [pervert] [method of error], as they do also the other scriptures [Greek, graphe, a document, Holy Writ], unto their own destruction [fruit of error]. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness [fruit of error] (2 Peter 3:14-17).

Ye do err [cause to roam from truth, go astray, become seduced, wander, be out of the way] [fruit of error], not knowing the scriptures [cause of error], nor the power [Greek, dunamis, force, ability, violence, miraculous power; and represents the movement and working of God's Holy Spirit] of God (Matthew 22:29).

For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers [cause of error], specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses [fruit of error], teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake [method of error] (Titus 1:10-11).

But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. A man that is an heretick [cause of error] after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth [method of error], being condemned [fruit of error] of himself (Titus 3:9-11).

Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines [fruit of error]. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein [method of error]. We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle (Hebrews 13:9-10).

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences [method of error] contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly [cause of error]; and by good words and fair speechesdeceive the hearts of the simple [naive and unsuspecting] [fruit of error] (Romans 16:17-18).

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled [fruit of error], neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means [method of error]: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3).

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine [fruit of error], by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness [method of error], whereby they lie in wait to deceive [cause of error] (Ephesians 4:14).

Let no man deceive you [cause of error] with vain words [method of error]: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God [fruit of error] upon the children of disobedience (Ephesians 5:6).

Beware of false prophets [cause of error], which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves [method of error]. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit [fruit of error]. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire [fruit of error] (Matthew 7:15-19).

For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you [method of error], not sparing the flock [fruit of error]. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them [cause of error] (Acts 20:29-30).

For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers [method of error], specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses [fruit of error], teaching things which they ought not [method of error], for filthy lucre's sake [cause of error] (Titus 1:10-11).

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God (Matthew 22:29).

WOE BE UNTO THE PASTORS THAT DESTROY AND SCATTER THE SHEEP OF MY PASTURE

"Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD. And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD. Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS"
(Jeremiah 23:1-6).
PERILOUS TIMES SHALL COME

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was"
(2 Timothy 3:1-9).

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee
(Isaiah 41:10-13).

"Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which
ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly;
and by good words
and fair speeches deceive the hearts
of the simple"
(Romans 16:17-18).

"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him"
(2 Corinthians 5:20-21).

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE? IT IS EVEN A VAPOUR

"Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into
such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and
get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.
For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth
for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought
to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and
do this, or that
(James 4:15).
